We are spring cleaning in readiness for our third annual Hen Party (gentlemen welcome) on Easter Saturday.  Amateur breeders and fanciers come and show their birds for sale and to order and sell hatching eggs.  We provide Easter goodies, plants and our usual range of hen and garden products, and my sons patiently hide Easter eggs for visiting children.

Henhouses are being painted inside with Virkon disinfectant and outside with Sadolin or Cuprinol.  The garden is being spruced up - hard work due to the depredations of the weather and our flock of ducks.  The hens are beginning to look a little scruffy thanks to the ardours of the new cockerel, so several are sporting an Orpington saddle (available from the Kitchen Garden £16.50 inc p&p) to protect their flanks.

We look forward to welcoming visitors on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am till 5pm from April 19th onwards.  Happy Easter.
