open on Fridays and Saturdays (10 till 5) from then on. Here also are
the details of our Counting Your Chickens henkeeping courses.

HEN PARTY
(Gentlemen welcome as always)
Easter Saturday
April 10th, 1am - 4pm
Welcome to the new season and celebrate our new book - A Peacock on
the Lawn. With Amateur Breeders and Fanciers showing their hens, ducks,
turkeys and peacocks for sale and to order. Pure breed hatching eggs.
Kitchen, garden & poultry paraphernalia from the Tartan Bow, Simnel
cakes, lemon curd, meringues, jams and honey. Organic free-range eggs.
Vegetable, herb and perennial plants. Egg hunt for children in the churchyard.
Delicious refreshments served in the Church. Giant Chocolate Easter
Egg Raffle to raise money for Repairs.
Entrance £1.00
(includes
an egg for each child)
Parking signposted in the village.
Counting
Your Chickens
Spend a day with us at the Kitchen Garden and learn all there is to
know about keeping hens: with hands-on advice, practical tips and fabulous
slide show. Meet out famous flock of Orpingtons and see them in action,
plus on-site hints on how to garden despite your hens. Includes a visit
from breeder Hugh Burton and his award winning Silkie hen. All topped
off with a home grown lunch, a glass of wine and an afternoon chat with
Penny Hands who will show you how to cook delicious recipes using your
own hen's eggs.

Cost: £75.00 including lunch - maximum 12 people.
Cheque
payment in full on booking please. Refunds (Minus £20.00 admin
charge) offered for cancellations within a month of the course date,
but we suggest if you can't make it you try to find a friend to take
your place. If we have to cancel, you will get a full refund.
