Despite
arctic conditions, the Kitchen Garden's Hen Party was a spectacularly
successful and we hope next year to embrace the whole village, share
this success and hopefully, the parking problems.
Back to chicken run routine with hatching of this year's incumbents
and the usual disproportionate success in the duck department. The little
black broody is tetchily leading out her family through the cow parsley
where the ant swarms are proving a source of excitement and extra protein.
Let's hope this will be a distraction from the newly sown vegetables
though they have been netted and caged.
We held our first Henkeeping course last week and really enjoyed ourselves.
I include details of the next two on this site and look forward to welcoming
you to the Kitchen Garden at some stage over the summer.
